Most ‘hubs’ will have an on-line platform to function as a point of contact and record for all those participating in the field. This will typically offer a mix of news, access to on-line discussion and exchange, and resources – documents, video, training material – relevant to the field. Most 'knowledge platform' hubs are located and evaluated in the Global North. In a context where many ICT 'norms' are derived from experience in the Global North, this may beg questions about the suitability of hardware, design, navigation, language and communication options for audiences elsewhere. There is little literature on this subject, a fact which might make the development of platforms for local audiences in the Global South, a knowledge generating exercise in its own right.
